Big nice park with Cairnlea park and Cairnlea dog park surrounding.Toilet, playground, bbq, water fountain are available. Plenty of car parks.Big oval grass field for sports i.e soccer, cricket...or just a picnic, gathering.

A park I like to visit on odd occasions whether it's to kick the ball with some friends, have a picnic or even just chill. I'll look to have more pictures of this venue in the future but as of current I just have one of a friendly magpie

We would definitely recommend visiting the gorge in Launceston and make sure you do all the circuit walks to get to duck reach as well as the cataract walk. Some of these hikes are difficult and steep in some sections but you can skip them if not suitable. The pool is amazing and you can also swim in the natural gorge. There is a lovely cafe and chairlifts (fees apply) stunning location and you will even meet some peacock friends! Heard about the Pinnacles from fellow travellers who raved over their visit. Well worth the short drive to the national park. We arrived shortly after the park opened. Being in a motor home we were not able to drive through the pinnacles however we thoroughly enjoyed the walk. So glad we visited.

Great view of Harbour, across to Eastern suburbs, North Head and South head and out to sea.

Nice relaxing fishing spot

Nice little green strip in the back of the hills. Great variety of plants and animals. Can feel like you aren't even in the city at points - good way to take a local nature break. Nice series of pools and mini falls along Excelsior creek - great for sitting at and enjoying the serenity.Mostly well marked trails. Easy to follow. Platypus (blue) trail is pretty low intensity - couple of hills, but nothing crazy steep or difficult to get over. Maybe some loose stones, or the odd tree root. Suitable for nearly all ages/abilities.Yellow and red trails are longer, with one or two points that require a bit of rock scrambling/creek crossing. Maybe not suitable for those with mobility issues, but accessible to most.

State of the art sports facility. Including field hockey, cricket and swimming to name a few. At the hockey venue there is a canteen and for bigger events there is usually a specialist food vendor or two. The field is a water based synthetic turf. Plenty of parking available with disabled access. The toilets are well maintained. A good venue all round.

We had a good time at the trail. We needed to pick up the key and leave a deposit but all fairly easy. The first part was a bit burned/dead (?) but the remainder was very green. Good time.
