Gympie Bone Museum
The Bone Museum is amazing! Unique, quirky, and educational, I highly recommend this attraction to both young and old. Animals -- from family pets to water buffalo -- are on display, and you will learn all about their individual stories, as well as any ailments they may have had.Our curator was exceptionally well-informed, we learned a lot about bones and what they can tell you about the overall health of a specimen. We even got to see carrion beetles at work!

My son and I absolutely loved coming here. It felt magic the moment we walked in. The lady was so lovely and welcoming. The displays were fantastic. I'd come back again!

Australian Age of Dinosaurs
A really special place and a must visit if you’re in the area. Seriously amazing seeing the famous dinosaur fossils when you think about how old they are. We were there scouting the location for Amazing Race Australia so got access to the building where they work on and store some seriously seriously cool bones and fossils. 100% check this place out

Megafauna Central
Extremely informative if you are interested in geological studies. Only a fairly small display but very interactive and educational. A number of hands on displays and audiovisual stories. The laboratory gives a real insight into how the whole process is undertaken. Well worth the visit.

It's only small, perfect for a quick stop and the kids loved it. Very enthusiastic curator. The story behind the real human skeleton is a good read. Unique in Australia. Donation to enter.

As a teacher and a parent, I really love this museum. Carefully designed with all ages in mind, the engaging displays and exhibits are outstanding and thoughtfully designed. The dinosaurs, geology, and insect sections, in particular, are amazing. The toilets are also clean, cafe a good deal and it's nice to chill out afterwards in the surrounding gardens. It's one of the best museums I've been to. And in my line of work I've been to a lot of them.
